Course Description: This beginner course covers basic sewing techniques for apparel construction. Learn the following:

Navigating a sewing machine
Sewing tools and supplies
Sewing terminology
Fabric identification and usage
Basic machine stitches
Taking body measurements
Reading sewing patterns
Basics of sewing with woven and stretch knit fabrics
Select seam finishes
Hemming techniques
Zipper installation (centered, lapped, and invisible)
Buttonholes
Darts
Pockets

Final Project: Tunic Dress with Pockets
